View STL Files
Inspect an ASCII or binary STL in your browser. Check its shape, triangle count and dimensions without uploading it.
Supported preview
ASCII and binary STL triangle meshes.
Read dimensions as coordinate units
The displayed bounds describe the triangle mesh, not a verified physical size. A width of 25 may mean millimetres, inches or another unit depending on the source export. Orbit and inspect the shape here; use the mesh checker when you need topology diagnostics rather than only a visual check.
How to use this viewer
- Choose or drop an STL file.
- Orbit, zoom, pan or use Fit model to inspect it.
- Check the mesh statistics and any warnings below the preview.
Limitations to check
- STL has no reliable unit field. Dimensions are shown in unspecified coordinate units.
- The viewer rejects incomplete, non-finite and zero-area geometry. It does not repair meshes or certify printability.
- Colors and binary attribute data are not displayed. Face normals are derived from triangle winding.
File and processing limits
- ASCII/binary STL up to 25 MiB, 750,000 stored vertices and 250,000 triangles.
- 30 seconds per mesh job. Browser memory and device speed can impose lower practical limits.
Processing happens in this browser; your file and filename are not uploaded. Cancel, reset or replace the file to stop its worker. Downloads are generated locally.
Questions about this workflow
Does opening an STL change it?
No. Viewing does not modify or save the original file. Preview normals are derived from winding, and the statistics describe the validated geometry.
