Convert GLB or glTF to STL
Apply scene transforms and extract static triangle geometry into a binary STL in millimetre coordinates.
Supported input and output
Self-contained GLB 2.0 or embedded glTF triangle primitives to binary STL. Float-position indexed and non-indexed meshes are supported.
Bake scene placement into one mesh file
Nested node translations, rotations, scales and matrices are applied to the supported meshes in the default scene. glTF metre coordinates become millimetres in the STL. The output keeps the placed triangle shells together, without scene hierarchy, materials or a boolean union.
How to use this tool
- Select GLB or embedded glTF.
- Inspect the transformed preview and geometry-only limitations.
- Convert to STL; use mm when importing it elsewhere.
Limitations to check
- Export uses the default scene only. Animation, skinning, morph targets, sparse accessors, compressed data and extensions are unsupported.
- Materials, images, colors and object hierarchy are discarded. A textured detail does not become physical geometry in the STL.
- Buffers and images must be embedded; external resources are rejected. glTF metre coordinates become mm, which you must select when importing the STL.
File and processing limits
- GLB/glTF input up to 25 MiB, 4 MiB JSON, 16 buffers and 32 MiB total decoded embedded resources.
- 1,024 nodes, hierarchy depth 32, JSON depth 64, 256 primitives, 500,000 placed vertices and 250,000 triangles.
- Generated mesh output is limited to 64 MiB.
- 30 seconds per mesh job. Browser memory and device speed can impose lower practical limits.
Processing happens in this browser; your file and filename are not uploaded. Cancel, reset or replace the file to stop its worker. Downloads are generated locally.
Questions about this workflow
Why does an external .bin file prevent conversion?
This workbench does not fetch model resources by filename or URL. Export a self-contained GLB, or embed the glTF buffers as bounded base64 data. Missing geometry is rejected rather than silently omitted.
